Brit-funk revivalists STR4TA (aka Gilles Peterson and Jean-Paul “Bluey” Maunick) released the vibrant single 'Vision 9' last week. Giles Peterson's label Brownswood Recordings now presents a fantastically re-crafted remix of the track, 'Vision 9 (Mele Mix & Dub)'. A deep house groove is at heart of the remix, with the bass drum pulsing like an excited heart, and percussion exerting tirelessly. What remains from the original mix is the energetic funk element; the bass plays one note monotonously underneath a swirl of delayed vocal samples.
